Announcement on Approving CMBC’s Acceptance of Haitong Securities Equity

The Bank recently received from Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. the forwarded Reply on Changes in Equity of Haitong Securities by the CSRC (Zhengjian Jigou Zi [2007] No. 139), which approved the Bank to accept 161,500,000 shares of Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. held by China Investment & Credit Guaranty Co., Ltd., and required the Bank to transfer them to others within 2 years upon the acceptance. So far, all 549 million shares of Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. held by the Bank, as foreclosed assets from borrowers, have been approved.
