Announcement on the Mid-term Increase of the Bank

The mid-term financials in this announcement haven’t been audited by the accounting firms and might be different from those having been audited. Investors are reminded of investment risk.

1.Projected performance of the period
1)Period of the performance: January 1, 2007 to June 30, 2007;
2)Projected performance: Based on the result of the initial calculation, it is projected that the 2007 mid-term net profit of the Bank will increase 60% more than that of the same period pervious year (without considering the increased value of Hangtong Securities’ equity);
3)The projected performance hasn’t been audited or reviewed by the CPA firms.

2.Performance of the same period previous year
1)Net profit: RMB 1,733,337,000;
2)EPS: RMB 0.17

3. Main reasons for the increase
The increase is mainly due to the steady and rapid development of such business lines as loans, investments and wealth management.
