CMBC won the Most Potential Bank and Second Place of Core Competence in “2007 China Commercial Bank Competence”

Lately Chinese Banker magazine issued its 2007 Evaluation Report on the Competence of China’s Commercial Banks. In the evaluation concerning the core competence, China Merchants Bank got the championship, CMBC won the second place, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China came equal third with Bank of Communications. Meanwhile, CMBC was awarded the Most Potential Bank.

The core competence under evaluation included areas such as development strategy, information technology, process bank, corporate governance, risk control, human resource, products and services, which represents the competitive advantages a commercial bank can rely for the sustainable development. Winning the second place means CMBC has been given positive evaluation in terms of its corporate governance, business development and risk control during the ten years, and such an award will increase the confidence of CMBC staff that are making efforts in carrying out reforms in operation and process bank and researching on new development mode.
