CSR of China Minsheng Banking Corporate Limited: Down-To-Earth Social Responsibility

China Minsheng Banking Corporate Limited will continue to draw spiritual strength from its charity, boost the "Second Take-off", and realize its vision of being one of China’s "Most Respected Commercial Banks".
Students of Liuhe Primary School was lucky, but according to Dong Wenbiao, Chairman of the Board of CMBC, private entrepreneurs like him and private enterprises like CMBC that have grown up in the wave of reform and opening-up were that should be deemed to be really lucky. He stressed that a lot of resources were not fairly allocated at the primary stage of socialism and it was just the case with education that needs strong governmental and social support. 
CMBC began its continuous investment in and selfless dedication to education since 2005. The same year, it donated RMB 31 million (China’s largest single donation to the field of education that year) to set up "Minsheng Education and Poverty Alleviation Fund", 50 Minsheng hope primary schools, and help financially-strapped college students to complete their studies. 
Public cultural undertaking is a major feature of CMBC CSR. Beginning in 2007, CMBC contributes 8 million yuan each year to Yan Huang Art Museum, building it into an important place for improving public cultural literacy and window for cultural exchange activities of Beijing, China, and even the rest of the world. In April 2010, CMBC established in Shanghai China’s first public art gallery backed by financial institution, Minsheng Modern Museum of Art, which has greatly promoted the development of China’s contemporary art. To protect the cultural heritage of mankind, in 2009, CMBC launched a large public event, i.e., "Guarding Dunhuang", during which it raised money nationwide, held large art exhibition, "Entering into Dunhuang", and provided series of lectures on Dunhuang to attract the attention of all walks of life to the loss of arts and culture.
