Concerning About Education, Offering Substantial Support

December 15, 2011, Poverty Alleviation Office of China Minsheng Banking Co., Ltd. provided RMB 1.75 million to Poverty Relief Office of Weiyuan County, Gansu Province for education, of which RMB 1 million would be used for the construction of teaching buildings in nursery school of Wuzhu Town, RMB 400,000 for the maintenance of Xiacheng Primary School in Xiacheng Township, Weiyuan County, RMB 300,000 for subsidizing 600 impoverished high school students (RMB 500 for each), and RMB 50,000 for rewarding 100 outstanding teachers (RMB 500 for each).
    Since 2007, CMBC staff has concerned themselves much about the education in impoverished areas and children from needy families. To support the healthy development of the cause of education in Weiyuan County, they have by now raised and contributed RMB 6.02 million, of which RMB 4.54 million are used for the construction of schoolhouses of Wangjiadian Primary School in Qingyuan Town, Xiapuzi Primary School in Luyuan Town, Shuiquan Primary School in Lianfeng Towh, Luba Primary School in Qijiamiao, Guanxi Primary School in Huichuan Town, Qingping Primary School in Qingping Township, Manpingwa Primary School in Wuzhu Town, Xinzhai Primary School in Xinzhai Town, Hejiawan Primary School in Lianfeng Town, Kangjia Primary School in Xiacheng Township, Luxi Primary School in Majiaji Town, Wuzhu Kindergarten, and Xiacheng Primary School in Xiacheng Township, RMB 180,000 for rewarding outstanding teachers (350 in total), and RMB 1.3 million for subsidizing impoverished students (2,600 in total). Besides, 80 computers are donated, 428 person-time training of teachers provided, and 10 kids with congenital heart disease have received surgical treatment. Efforts such as offering special training to primary and secondary school principals and outstanding teachers in Beijing also effectively promoted the healthy development of the education in Weiyuan County.
